As a member of the Indiana Youth Soccer Association (IYSA), Starsoccer will begin implementation of minimum coaching standards as outlined by the IYSA. Beginning this spring season ALL recreational coaches for age groups 5 thru 8 will have the opportunity to attend a 'Youth Coaching Module' conducted by a licensed soccer coach or an IYSA representative. This course will be conducted on the opening night of the recreational program (don't worry, we have plans for the players as well) and all coaches will receive certificates of completion. Minimum coaching standards serve a dual purpose; first they provide continuity of instruction to all players and secondly will give new parent coaches more confidence as they coach their child's team. Minimum coaching standards will also be enforced for our travel coaches. Since this requires a greater commitment of time on the part of our travel coaches, Starsoccer will cover the cost of the training. The current pool of coaches has many impressive items on their resumes, including:
  • Multiple National coaching licenses

  • A current Indiana Varsity Coach

  • A former Indiana High School All-State Player
